Rough week

Image
Getting sick is an inevitable part of life. No matter how much we take care of ourselves, we are bound to fall ill at some point. Unfortunately, this can also have a significant impact on our productivity, especially if we are in the middle of an important project. Recently, I fell ill with a bad cold, and it completely hindered my production process. I had a lot of work to do, and I was on a tight deadline. But my body was weak, and my mind was foggy. I found it hard to focus on anything, and my energy levels were low. The worst part was that my illness lasted for over a week, which meant I couldn't do anything productive during that time. I had to take time off work and rest until I felt better. This was frustrating because I knew I was falling behind on my work, and I couldn't do anything about it. As I tried to catch up on my work after recovering, I realized that the time I lost due to my illness could never be regained. It had a ripple effect on my entire project, and I...

We filmed!

Image
We got some of our filming done, however, this was just a portion. We settled on filming at Jackson's house for the portions of the film that were in a household setting. This just leaves us to film the in-school portions of the video. We have been brainstorming the possibility of filming the schools scenes with a high quality green screen. This is something that would require lots of research on green screening to create the best possible quality. This would be the backup plan if we are not able to film at Kyles Mom's school. I will start to edit the footage we do have. The first things I plan to start on is color correction to give the film a more professional look. To continue, color correction will assist in the immersion of the viewer to the movie. I also plan to use text tracking to do the opening cards. For example, the name of our production company, etc. When filming at Jackson's house, we didn't run into any issues. I feel that this was mostly thanks to the p...

We got a date!

Image
My group has finally developed a plan to film! We will be filming this weekend as we are on spring break. We all have a lot more time to allow for filming and production. We plan to film this weekend, preferably Sunday. In doing this, I will have time to revise and begin editing the film. Hopefully, we can have a draft of our final product in a week or so. In doing this, it will give us plenty of time to get the work looked at by a peer to tell us what they think could be changed. We plan to listen to critique from others serious to maximize the potential and quality of our project. The plan for the day of filming is to meet at Jacksons house on Sunday to film all the shots of our main character at home, and we will need to schedule another film date during the break. The other film session would be to film the shots at the main characters school. We will need to go to the school the Kyle's mom works at to film these, so planning these dates my be complicated. This date may need t...

Fork in the road

I apologize for not being able to film over the weekend because of my football practice. My football practice schedule conflicted with our filming plans. I had already committed to my football team's practice schedule for the weekend. Unfortunately, my football practice took up all my time and energy. I tried to find a way to fit my football practice and our filming plans, but it was impossible. I didn't want to let down my football team by missing practice, which is why I couldn't film. I know how important this project is, but my commitment to my football team is also important to me. I wish I could have filmed with my group over the weekend, but my football practice had to come first. My football team has been preparing for a big game, and I didn't want to let them down by skipping practice. I am pretty sure my group understands that my football practice was a priority over filming for the weekend. I didn't want to jeopardize my position on the football team by m...

Lets get ready to rumble!

Due to some conflict in our plans, my group has re-scheduled our filming to next weekend. We are however still pumped for filming. I was able to get a hold of some friends to use some equipment. I have received permission to use my friends gimble which I will get from him on Monday. My team has also confirmed that we will be filming partially at Jacksons house, and partially at the school that Kyles mom works at. This is because in our storyboard the protagonist is shot in "his school" multiple times. We have yet to decide a day we will film at the school, however, we plan it will be the following week. Just off the first couple days, I have noticed that scheduling is a huge issue. This is partially due to Jackson and I being athletes, and most of our time is takin up by training for our sport. However, Kyle and Kevin both have more time to film, so we might get them to film some scenes by themselves. Kevin has ben a huge part of this entire process so far, and I am t...

Lets get this show on the road!

Image
I am very excited to start this production journey with my group. We plan to have a film session this weekend, and I hope to get some good shots and ideas when we are there. We are planning to meet at Jacksons house, but that is subject to change. I am really looking forward to see how our group works together as it is a new group, and I believe that our skillsets will fit together like a puzzle piece. We plan to film on my phone as per usual. The camera quality is beyond good, and it is more than good enough to film the movie.  Also, I will be brining my tripod, as it will help us get those stable shots when the camera isn't moving. I reached out to one of my friends who has a gimble in hopes to borrow it from him, but he has yet to respond, so I am not sure of the possibility of such a thing happening. With this being my first production blog, I am very excited to see what this rollercoaster ride has top offer. As of right now, our goal is to have our fi...
