Editing has begun

We have started the editing process and things are looking good. The beginning shots of this film are starting to look super good. In editing the beginning part of this film me and my group members have identified some things that need to be worked on and changed. We will plan on having another day to film makeup and added scenes in the coming week. There are some jumps from scene to scene that don't make a lot of sense so we decided to add some more transition scenes. Like the transition from Hoffman and Reynolds at the Morgue to the murder site was kind of confusing so we are going to make it a little easier to understand. Other than that we have been working on creating better sound effects to overlay clips. In production of larger films we saw the audio of walking and other things re-created in post-film production. We wanted to use this idea and test it out in our film. So in clips where we are walking in the woods and closing doors we made sound effects. To create these sound effects we looked up techniques that are commonly used. For the footsteps we used shoes on sand. the easily recognizable crunch made the footsteps sound very crisp and added to the effect of the film overall. I am going to continue into looking into some methods I can use for audio. As something that was filmed on a phone the audio gets very flushed out. Thus making the film seem more cheap and unprofessional. My goal by the next blog is to have gotten all the new filming done that we needed. I also like I said want to have found some more interesting ways to increase audio quality. Once I can get that done and finish the editing I can move on to the other aspects of this task. See you guys in the next blog and thanks for catching up!
