Time to revise...
So I ran into some things this week that made me want to revise the music video. I was watching tv and when scrolling through channels I came upon a music video that was the same genre of the video I am creating. I forgot the name of the song however it gave me the perfect idea for my transitions. On every thud of a beat, the camera change or cut. Now the song I am doing does not have many beats and is more on the cinematic side. But I came to the conclusion that less transitions might be better. Since this is a more cinematic vibe, I plan to do transitions through long clips. I figure that I don't need to have many transitions if I just use the long clips that I have. On top of that, I found some new online color correction presets that I enjoyed more than my custom ones. I am still on the hunt for one that looks exactly like the video to get the expensive camera feel. But I have yet to find one. I was talking to some friends that are not in my group, and they gave me some constructive help that assisted me in seeing things that my group didn't see. The darkness of the video seemed overwhelming to them, and they said they can tell it was severely edited. This was the opposite of my intentions so it brought me back to the drawing board on this color correction issue. For the time being I have found a preset that I believe looks very good. I will discuss with my group when I see them, along with the friends who gave me some help. I believe I fixed the problem, but again I am really trying to make this video look like it was filmed by a real music video filming company. Once I get over this curve on the visual appeal of the video I feel that I will be close to the finish line. I will let you all know what my peers say about my editing in the next blog. But after we complete the small flaws in editing, this video will be done! I am very excited for the new things this class will offer after this project!
