Creative Critical Relection

My music video uses lots of the same Conventions and codes as the genre of the song I used. With the specific genre that I had had a lot of "road to recovery" stories involved. That's why we decided to go with the storyline that we did. Also, in the specific artists albums, he tended to have cinematic shots. This includes being darker, and looking more like something out of a dramatic movie. This creates more of an ominous mood and creates more of a dramatic vibe to all of the music videos that the artist makes. We tried to stay with the specific artist of my song (NF) because the song type used is very individual to its kind. And the artist seemed to have the same style in music throughout all his songs. However, in these music videos there is no storyline. This contradicts my video because our video follows a story line. This represents all athletes, and that injuries can't hold you back from becoming your greatest. The video I have created engages with the audience...

Music Video Release!

This is our groups second project with the addition of one group member. I believe that we improved on a lot during this time period, however there is still work to do. The story shown in this video took a lot of work and I am proud of the results. Im looking forward to the next project in this class. I hope you enjoy the music video!

Its the most wonderful time of the year

Since my last blog, I have changed nothing and I am prepared to submit my music video! Once sharing to fellow peers in my Media Class, I came to a final conclusion to leave my music video the way it is. Focusing on the color correction was taking away some of the attention from other things that needed editing in the video. For example, I forgot to mute the raw audio taken from the shots. So in the background of the music you hear us talking. Luckily I friend caught it and now we are in the clear. I am looking forward to Christmas now that this project is over! Hopefully I can get some new camera  equipment to have better quality in my films. One thing I wish I had for Christmas is snow. Since I live in South Florida, I have never seen snow. But it doesn't take away much, and Christmas is still the best holiday. I am very excited for what is coming next in this class and cannot wait. I feel that I have found the best strategies for film making, and that I am coasting towards ...

Time to revise...

So I ran into some things this week that made me want to revise the music video. I was watching tv and when scrolling through channels I came upon a music video that was the same genre of the video I am creating. I forgot the name of the song however it gave me the perfect idea for my transitions. On every thud of a beat, the camera change or cut. Now the song I am doing does not have many beats and is more on the cinematic side. But I came to the conclusion that less transitions might be better. Since this is a more cinematic vibe, I plan to do transitions through long clips. I figure that I don't need to have many transitions if I just use the long clips that I have. On top of that, I found some new online color correction presets that I enjoyed more than my custom ones. I am still on the hunt for one that looks exactly like the video to get the expensive camera feel. But I have yet to find one. I was talking to some friends that are not in my group, and they gave me some constr...
