Production Blog - We filmed!
After the events of last week, my partner Jackson and I began filming for our commercial. On Saturday morning I drove to Jacksons house to begin filming. On the way I stopped at a Gas station nearby to purchase some cold Gatorade for filming. When I got to Jacksons house we changed into our costumes grabbed our props and headed to his community gym. We setup our camera and began filming multiple scenes for our commercial. I advised Jackson to use water from then sink to make himself appear as if he was sweating a lot, which he did. I took various shots of Jackson doing different exercises. As the director, I managed many different shots with different focuses on the actor, Jackson. We did close up shots and low angle shots and high angle shots to emphasize the effects of drinking Gatorade. We wanted to do some shots from outside the gym through the windows but it began to rain and we could not do those shots. We had to improvise a couple shots and angles due to bad weather. We also ran into a slight issue with someone not wanting to be in the back of our scene when filming so we had to wait until they were done to shoot that specific scene. This also occurred a couple other times where people wanted to use equipment we had planned on filming on so we just had to wait it out. I then looked back at what I filmed and made sure I had what I needed. After we finished filming we headed back to Jacksons house and began planning on how we were going to edit our video. After we chose the audio and music that would be used for our video, I headed home and began to look at the clips I had. I uploaded all the clips onto my computer and I plan to edit the videos by my next blog. As a recap of the day, I would say that what we accomplished filming wise we got done. I wanted to get a couple shots that just were not possible during filming but I improvised with what I had. I will be back next blog with all my details on editing as I took the lead for editing my video.
